Verdala International School Parent-Staff Organisation
The VPSO covers both the traditional VIS events/fundraising role and a more formal role within the School's governance structure with the aim of tapping into our community resources and encouraging parent and staff engagement with all aspects of school-life.
Aims:
To support the governance of the School through:

- Advocating the School's values, mission and educational philosophy.
- Promoting close co-operation and communication between the School Leadership, teachers/staff and parents.
- Encouraging parent involvement in the School's governance.
To enhance relations and foster links across the School community through:

- Organising social events.
- Welcoming new parents and community members.
- Supporting school events and activities.
To raise funds for School activities / resources through various events.
To act as a parent representational body by:

- Bringing general and specific school issues to the attention of the School through the appropriate channels.
- Advising and guiding parents on the correct procedures for raising individual and classroom/educational issues with the School.
Membership:

- Each Cohort has class parents who contribute to the make-up of the VPSO.
- Additional Volunteers are always welcome and much needed for supporting school events.
- Staff Representation ensures there is successful collaboration with all school events/activities
Examples of VPSO supported events:
New Family support & gatherings, School Sports Days, School Performances, Raising funds for school trips and Sports kit, Nationality Meet-Ups, Coffee Mornings for cohorts, Winter Festival, International Night, and Collections to thank Staff.
